It does not need light because it does not perform photosynthesis: it can also be placed in rooms without windows, such as offices or windowless bathrooms. However, avoid direct sunlight and very hot halogen lamps, as UV rays can fade the pigments over time.
Water
Never wet it: water dissolves the pigments and irreversibly damages the moss and lichen. If it gets wet accidentally, immediately dab it with absorbent paper without rubbing and leave it to air-dry.
Temperature and humidity
The ideal temperature is between 15 and 25 °C; it tolerates temperatures from 5 to 35 °C. The ideal humidity is between 40% and 70%, typical of indoor environments.
