Eucalyptus gunnii – The Fresh, Silvery Scent of Tasmania

Eucalyptus gunnii is one of the most popular eucalyptus plants for its ornamental beauty and distinctive fragrance: its young, rounded, bright silvery-blue leaves release an intense, fresh, balsamic aroma that transforms any environment into a space of sensory well-being. An exceptionally elegant plant, beloved by florists and botanical design enthusiasts for its unique texture and extraordinary color.

Plant characteristics

• Pot diameter: 14 cm
• Plant height: approximately 35 cm
• Young, round, silvery-blue leaves with striking decorative appeal
• Fresh, balsamic fragrance that is intense and long-lasting
• Upright, light, airy growth habit
• Evergreen: decorative all year round
• Highly sought after for floral arrangements and botanical decorations

Care and maintenance

• Light: full sun or bright light – it thrives in sunny positions that enhance its silvery color and fragrance; indoors, place it near the brightest window
• Watering: moderate – allow the substrate to dry out partially between waterings; drought-tolerant but sensitive to waterlogging
• Temperature: hardy and resistant to cold down to -15°C; ideal for outdoor growing in temperate and cold climates; also excellent in pots on terraces
• Substrate: well-draining; prefers light, slightly acidic substrates
• Fertilization: every 4-6 weeks in spring and summer with a low-concentration balanced fertilizer
• Pruning: prune regularly to maintain a compact growth habit and stimulate the production of young silvery-blue leaves, which are the most ornamental

Eucalyptus gunnii is much more than a plant: it is a complete sensory experience. Its silvery color catches the light, and its presence transforms any space into a corner of authentic, refined nature.
