Storia e Informazioni

Agave variegata is a succulent plant native to Mexico, with fleshy, rigid and variegated leaves arranged in a rosette. It requires little care and is suitable for both bright interiors and the garden.

Characteristics

  • Leaves: fleshy, rigid and variegated, arranged in a rosette.
  • Type: succulent.
  • Origin: Mexico.
  • Location: indoors and outdoors.
  • Drought-resistant.

How to care for it

  • Light: direct sunlight or partial shade: it needs plenty of light to keep its leaves vibrant. Indoors, a south- or west-facing window is perfect.
  • Water: every 14 days in summer and every 30 days in winter. Water thoroughly, let the water drain, and wait until the soil is completely dry before watering again.
  • Temperature and humidity: ideal between 10 and 30 °C, tolerates up to 35 °C; in winter, do not expose it to temperatures below 5 °C. It prefers low humidity, between 30% and 50%.
  • Fertilizer: in spring and summer, use fertilizer specifically for succulents every 60 days.
  • Soil: well-draining, with sand, potting soil and perlite, in a pot with drainage holes to prevent waterlogging and root rot.
  • Propagation: by separating offsets: gently detach them from the mother plant and plant them in a new pot.

Why choose it

  • Requires little care and infrequent watering.
  • Variegated leaves with a decorative effect.
  • Adapts to both bright interiors and the garden.
