Croton loves bright, indirect light, but can also tolerate a few hours of direct light. It is important to place it in a well-lit location to maintain its vibrant colors. However, avoid exposing it to direct light for too many consecutive hours, especially during the hottest part of the day.

When and how to water it

Water your Croton when the top layer of soil feels dry to the touch. During summer, you may need to water it every 7 days, while in winter, every 14 days. Always check the soil moisture with your finger before watering.

Temperature and humidity

Croton thrives in an environment with temperatures between 18 and 24 degrees Celsius, but can tolerate up to 30 degrees. It is important to maintain a high humidity level, between 60% and 80%, to prevent the leaves from drying out.

The right fertilizer

During spring and summer, we recommend fertilizing Croton every 30 days with a balanced liquid fertilizer. This will help the plant maintain its lush growth and bright colors.

The pot and soil

Croton prefers well-drained soil. An ideal mix includes peat, perlite, and sand, with a pH of around 6. Make sure the pot has good drainage to prevent waterlogging, which could damage the roots.
