Frequently Asked Questions About Orchids

Why do orchids need a transparent pot?

The roots of epiphytic orchids, such as Phalaenopsis, perform photosynthesis. The transparent pot allows them to receive the necessary light and makes it easy for you to check their health and the substrate's moisture level, preventing overwatering.

How often should I repot my orchid?

Generally every 2-3 years, or when you notice that the substrate has degraded, the roots are growing extensively out of the pot, or the plant appears unstable. The best time is after flowering.

Is this kit suitable for all orchids?

This kit is ideal for most commercially available epiphytic orchids, such as Phalaenopsis, Dendrobium and Cattleya, which require highly aerated roots. It is perfect for repotting plants from pots with diameters of 9 to 12 cm.

Should I water the orchid immediately after repotting?

No, it is advisable to wait approximately 7-10 days before watering for the first time. This allows the small wounds on the roots created during repotting to heal, preventing the risk of rot.
