How to care for it
Light
Keep it in a bright room but away from direct sunlight: the glass amplifies heat and the leaves inside can burn within a few hours. An east- or north-facing window is perfect; a south-facing window is fine if the terrarium is 1-2 metres away.
Water and humidity
Do not water by pouring, to avoid water pooling at the bottom: mist the substrate directly with low-limescale water (rainwater, distilled or filtered water), approximately every 14 days in summer and every 30 days in winter. Observe the walls: if they are fogged, the humidity is correct; if the glass is completely dry, add 2-3 sprays; if a lot of water is running down, open the lid (if closed) for 24 hours.
Temperature
The ideal temperature is between 18 and 24 °C; avoid temperatures below 10 °C or above 30 °C.
Cleaning and ventilation
Clean the glass regularly to keep it transparent. Every 2-3 months, remove dry leaves or decomposing parts with long tweezers and clean the inside of the glass with a soft, dry cloth. If the terrarium is closed, open it once every 7-10 days for 30 minutes to refresh the air and prevent mould.
Fertiliser
Regular fertilisation is not necessary: the terrarium is a self-sufficient microenvironment.
